TRS 105 Spring 2002 Mrs. Damerell
Assignment for Thursday, March 21, and Tuesday, March 26
due Thursday, March 28
Complete A or B
A.
1.
"How to Write a Personal Letter," by Garrison Keillor, is on reserve at the MCC library on the Brighton campus. Go to the circulation desk and ask for the essay reserved for Mrs. Damerell's TRS 105012/105013. You will need a picture ID to use the reserve material and can borrow it for one hour. You must stay in the library with the material.
I want you to read the essay, answer all of the questions that follow the essay, and complete one of the writing assignments that follows the essay. I want all of your work word-processed. The essay questions are available on my website as well as with the essay. Use the writing process: prewrite, organize, write a first draft, revise, write a second draft, edit and proofread. Hand in all of the writing process work with your word-processed essay.
Do not try to answer the questions and complete the writing without reading the essay. The library keeps a record of which students have borrowed materials; you will get no credit for this assignment without borrowing the reserve material.
2. Complete the interactive exercise for chapter 38, via the College Writing Skills website or your CD-ROM.
